SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -
A local animal shelter riddled with controversy could soon have a new leader.
A group of county commissioners voted for a new director at the facility in Saginaw on Wednesday night.
They recommend Kevin Wilken as the new director.
Wilken is currently a supervisor for a shelter in Milwaukee.
Another committee will make a final decision at a special meeting on the 16th.
The last director at the shelter quit after implementing controversial policies.
