Saginaw County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to Fordney and Baumgartner roads in Fremont Township around 3:45 a.m. on Friday for a single-car crash.
When they arrived at the scene, deputies said the lone passenger in the vehicle was deceased. Following an investigation, it was determined that the driver, identified as 24-year-old Nicholas Ronald Vietti, of Sand Lake, MI, was traveling northbound on Fordney when he crossed the center line and ran off the roadway.
Deputies said the car left the road and struck a culvert, which caused the vehicle to go airborne. The vehicle then hit the ground and rolled.
Saginaw County Sheriff William Federspiel said an autopsy is pending.
