UPDATE: Saginaw County Sheriff's Detective Sgt. Randy Pfau tells TV5 that a man who is believed to have fled the scene of the burglary is in custody.
The woman who was also at the scene is set for arraignment on Wednesday. Pfau said the man has a parolee absconded status out of Genesee County and is currently lodged in the Genesee County Jail.
Saginaw County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a burglary that occurred at a St. Charles-area home over the weekend.
On Saturday afternoon, the homeowner was pulling into his driveway in the 5200 block of S. Graham Road and saw a car sitting there, honking its horn.
The homeowner said a woman was inside the car and told the homeowner she was lost and needed directions. He gave them to her and she left.
Deputies said the homeowner proceeded to open his garage door and saw that his back door was open - not the way he left it. It was then that the homeowner realized he stumbled upon a burglary.
The homeowner also found guns and electronics stacked by the back door, ready to be moved.
Deputies said the man jumped into his car and followed the woman's car. He also called 911 and eventually, her vehicle was stopped and she was taken into custody.
Saginaw County Sheriff's deputies brought in police tracking dogs and conducted a three-hour search, but found no other suspects.
Around 7 p.m., a resident in the 7000 block of S. Fordney, not far from the burglary scene, reported a stolen car. Saginaw County Sheriff's Detective Sgt. Randy Pfau told TV5 the incidents are related.
Authorities said they are seeking a white male, standing about 5 feet 10 inches with a thin build in connection to the burglary. The car he supposedly stole is a white 1994 Buick Century four-door, Michigan license 8BLD74.
Pfau said drugs may be the motivation for the heist. The woman is a Genesee County resident and is currently lodged at the Saginaw County Jail.
