SAGINAW TOWNSHIP, MI (WNEM) -
Saginaw Township police are investigating after a 62-year-old man said he was robbed in the parking lot of the American Legion Post on Weiss Road.
Police said the armed robbery happened around 8:30 p.m. at 5190 Weiss when the Saginaw Township man entered his pickup truck. The man told police the driver's side door was pulled open, and a man armed with a handgun told him to "give me your f-----g money."
The victim complied with the robber and handed over cash. The robber was last seen fleeing the scene on foot north into a large subdivision.
Saginaw Township police responded quickly to the victim's call for help, and city of Saginaw police officers also responded with a tracking dog. The dog followed the robber's tracks for a distance, with no success.
The robber is described as a white male in his mid-20s with a slim build, standing about 6' tall. He was wearing a black hoodie, dark jeans and a bandana over part of his face. He also had "off-colored" tennis shoes.
Saginaw Township police said their investigation in this case is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to call 989-791-7226.
