THOMAS TOWNSHIP, MI (WNEM) -

One church used its voices to raise money for troops wounded in action. St. Mark's Lutheran Church help its annual Harvest Harmony Concert for a cause close to parishioners' hearts.

Organizer Gloria Luplow said she wanted to give back to veterans and honor those who are serving.

"So it's touching our hearts and we don't feel they get enough help," said Luplow.

The concert included bagpipes and the children's group singing "Grand Old Flag." Veterans were honored with a star patch from a retired flag.

The songs brought tears to the eyes of World War II veteran Martin Dahl.

"Makes you warm all over, makes you proud, makes you proud," said Dahl.

Patriot Guard members also join the church for the ceremony.
