Help is on the way to stop the violence in Saginaw and Flint.
A new wave of state trooper recruits is being assigned to posts throughout Michigan.
It's Gov. Rick Snyder's plan.
A total of 62 additional troopers, a mix of recruits and veterans, will be sent to the four cities with the worst crime problems in the state; that includes Pontiac, Detroit, Flint and Saginaw.
Lt. John Card says the new recruits are some of the best he has seen, but the rookies won't be ready for Flint and Saginaw right away.
On Friday, 78 new troopers get sworn in at a ceremony in Lansing.
A second wave of recruits start Oct. 28.
