We have new details in Saturday's death of a Bay City Central student.
Autumn Elwell was only two days away from her 17th birthday when she died. Autumn was a passenger in a car that was backing up on I-96 near Grand Rapids because the driver missed an exit.
The Grand Rapids Press reports that as the car crossed the highway to get to the exit, a semi crashed into the driver's side door.
The driver of the car was Elwell's sister, 25-year-old Ashley Donnelly of Bay City.
She remains hospitalized.
Arrangements are being handled by Gephart Funeral Home in Bay City.
