David Strouse, a Saginaw native, celebrated the completion of his latest development – the Hamilton Street Apartments in Old Town.

Strouse, who lives in Los Angeles, bought the building a few years ago for about $90,000. Since the purchase he has invested more than $650,000 to convert it into luxury apartments.

The Hamilton Street Apartments were designed by Los Angeles architect Marcelo Goncalves. The units feature Martha Stewart kitchen cabinets, stainless steel under mount sinks, Corian countertops and refinished hardwood floors.

The building that houses the apartments was first built in 1881 and once housed a candy store.
