FRANKENMUTH TOWNSHIP, MI (WNEM) -

A 45-year-old Frankenmuth resident was hit by a truck and died from injuries sustained in the crash.

The bicyclist has been identified as Stephanie Ann Collins.

The Frankenmuth Police Department responded to the crash Wednesday night. It happened at the intersection of Townline Road and Beyer Road in Frankenmuth Township.

First responders and MMR attempted life-saving measures but Collins was pronounced dead at the scene. Flight Care was activated immediately but not needed.

Police said the initial investigation indicates the bicyclist was traveling eastbound on Townline Road near Beyer Road. Officers believe a 1987 S-10 Chevy pickup was also traveling eastbound when it struck the bicyclist on the south side of the road. The S-10 was driven by a 59-year-old Birch Run Township resident.

The accident is still under investigation.
