Hearing explores impact of policies on LGBT people

Posted: Updated:

The Michigan Department of Civil Rights and Wayne State University's Damon J. Keith Center for Civil Rights are hosting a hearing on how anti-discrimination policies affect gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people.

The conference Monday evening at the Detroit university is open to the general public.

Organizers are seeking input on the personal and economic impact of such policies.

The public hearing is being held at the Spencer M. Partrich Auditorium, which is part of the university's law school.

The Keith Center honors the life and legacy of Keith, a federal judge, civil rights figure and 1956 Wayne Law alumnus.
