
Zurlon Tipton rushed for three touchdowns, including a 72-yard run, to help Central Michigan beat Akron 35-14 on Saturday afternoon.
Tipton ran 72 yards up the sideline for his first touchdown of the game for Central Michigan (3-5, 1-3 Mid-American).
He later had a 5-yard run and a 6-yard run for touchdowns.
Tipton finished the game with 37 carries for 243 yards -- a career high.
Central Michigan had a total of 264 yards on the ground.
Ryan Radcliff was 15 of 25 for 180 yards and two touchdowns.
Titus Davis caught both TD passes -- one at 27 yards and another at 36.
Central Michigan led 14-7 at halftime, but Akron could only score seven more points.
Dalton Williams was 31 of 51 for 329 yards, including two touchdowns, for Akron (1-8, 0-5).
Dee Frieson caught a 9-yard pass and Jerrod Dillard caught a 10-yard pass for touchdowns.
