UNIVERSITY CENTER, MI (WNEM) -
Junior wide receiver Jeff Janis had a record breaking day as he helped lead the Cardinals to a 34-23 victory over Michigan Tech. Janis hauled in a school-record 18 passes for 235 yards and three TDs. His 18 catches broke Andrew Beaver's mark of 14 that was set in 2010. Janis would go on to break Beaver's single-season receptions record as well, passing the old mark of 74 that was set in 2010. The third record he broke was the SVSU single-season receiving yards mark of 1,130 yards that was set by Glenn Martinez in 2003. Janis now has 85 catches this season for 1,289 yards and 13 TDs.
