Police ID woman beaten, left for dead in ditch

Posted: Updated:

The Mt. Morris Township Police Department has identified the woman who was found beaten, naked and barely alive in a ditch Thursday morning.

The woman has been identified as 25-year-old Ashley Lucier of Genesee County.

She is still in critical condition at Hurley Medical Center. Initial reports indicated that she'd been stabbed too, but police would not confirm that fact.

Authorities said the woman was found early Thursday morning on Carpenter Road between Elm and Webster, slightly north of Flushing.

"We just did identify her through fingerprints, she is a local, she is a local, and at this point, I can't get into too many details because we are just notifying the next to kin," said Chief Scott McKenna with the Mt. Morris Township Police Department just after 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

"It's hard for the public to sit back and say, well, what has happened, because everyone's scared and uptight and understandably so. Our biggest thing is we want to make sure we are very methodical in this so whoever did this to her we can put away," said McKenna.

McKenna says any information anybody has could be crucial.  If you know something or saw something on Carpenter Road, between Webster and Elms, on Thursday morning, call the Mt. Morris Township Police Department at 810-785-1311.

Police have no suspects at this time.
