Longtime TV5 sportscaster dies

Posted: Updated:

Many of you remember the kind voice of Marc Wesley. He delivered the sports to you on a nightly basis here on TV5 from 1965 to 1991.

Born in Philadelphia, Wesley had a passion for the stage and did summer acting at the "Red Barn" in Saugatuck. After high school, he attended Northwestern, but midway through his studies, he joined the Air Force and reached the rank of Staff Sergeant.

After his service days he returned to Northwestern and received his masters in radio, TV and film.

During his media career he worked in such places as Rockford, IL, Palm Beach, FL, and Chicago before spending his final 26 years here at WNEM.

Wesley enjoyed fishing, boating and camping and couldn't resist picking up his golf clubs. He was also involved in local community the theater and spent time as the vice president of the Michigan Outdoor Writers Association.
