Police investigating shooting spree search home

Posted: Updated:

Authorities investigating a shooting spree that included 24 incidents and one injury in four counties have executed a search warrant at a southeast Michigan home.

Michigan State Police Lt. Michael Shaw tells a Detroit TV station that a tip led authorities to the home in Wixom as part of the ongoing investigation. Video of the police response that began late Monday showed numerous officers at the home about 30 miles northwest of Detroit.

A message seeking additional information from Shaw was left Tuesday morning by The Associated Press. Wixom police said they had no information to immediately release.

The shootings began Oct. 16 and stretched from Oakland County west to Ingham County. The targets mostly were cars traveling on roads near Interstate 96. Only a handful of shootings actually occurred on the interstate.
