Testimony continued Thursday in the Frank Choate murder trial in Lapeer.

Choate is accused in the brutal murder of Marie Warren, the 86-year-old grandma whose body was found in a ditch five miles from her house in October, 2006.

Janet Brace is the daughter of Marie Warren and she's been in the courtroom during all the proceedings.

On Wednesday Brace testified and she said after six long years, it's a day she thought she'd never see.

"I'm glad we're finally to this point," said Brace, "Obviously, we really don't know the conclusion yet. I'm just glad that we're in the process."

A process that has taken six years, and now a trial under way, Brace says she's starting to feel it.

"So far it's, I guess it's taking its toll." Brace said.

Court officials say it could be another week or two before the trial's over and the jury can start their deliberations. Brace is hoping for the best.

"Well obviously I hope a guilty verdict comes out of it. I'm hoping that it's the correct person and that he will no longer be out on the streets." said Brace.
