SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -

The Yellow Ribbon Guard and the Saginaw Medical Credit Union have teamed up to hold a care package drive for men and women serving in the military.

It is taking place at the branch on Michigan Avenue until 3 p.m. Friday.

The effort coincides with the "Send Santa to the Troops" program which packages and ships gifts for the troops serving overseas during the holiday season.

Other events taking place this weekend to benefit "Send Santa to the Troops" include a Bowl-A-Thon at Bay Lanes on Euclid Avenue in Bay City, Saturday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

A number of area radio stations have teamed up with Bay Lanes to help pay the shipping costs of sending items overseas.

Also, Glen's Market in West Branch will host a drive on Sunday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

If you can't make it out to the events, you can make a monetary donation to Yellow Ribbon Guard, P.O. Box 11, Reese, MI 48757.
