Price of gas shoots up to $3.69 in Saginaw, Bay City
SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -
WNEM.com was alerted via Facebook that gas prices were on the rise across much of Mid-Michigan.
Prices at the pump were increased from $3.31 per gallon to $3.69 a gallon in the last few hours. A check of Gasbuddy.com shows that prices have risen in Saginaw and Bay City, and social media users are reporting that the price has also increased in smaller towns around the area.
Some stations, such as the Admiral line, still show gas at $3.26 per gallon.
Right now the price for a barrel of crude oil is going for $85.55 and hasn't fluctuated much past that figure over the last few weeks.
Fuel stations may be raising the price due to opening day of rifle deer season and the long Thanksgiving holiday next week. Millions are expected to take to the roads in our state to hunt and visit friends and family.
