The Regent Cinema is an Albury icon and has provided a great generations of patrons the venue for a great night out. Specialty Cinema worked together with Edge Digital and the management of Albury Regent Cinema on this exciting project to increase the cinema screen size to a mammoth 17.6m x 7.5m. This expansive new silver 3D cinema screen will provide patrons along the Murray Valley with a first class cinema experience, befitting this grand old venue.    

Albury Regent Cinema was opened on 19 February, 1927 and was designed to seat 1,347 patrons across stalls and a circle level. Local architect Louis Harrison designed the building in the Art Deco style. The cinema is located at 456 Dean Street, Albury, New South Wales. A second screen was added in the 1970's and in 1995, 8 additional screens were added to the side of the building. The Regent Cinema in Albury is listed with the Heritage Trust of Australia.

Tony Smith, manager at the Albury Regent Cinema spoke glowingly of the new screen surface, “This has been a great cinema project for us. A new silver screen of this size means a fantastic viewing experience for our patrons. We will now be able to show block buster new releases in a high quality heritage cinema, with all the best features that modern technology can provide.”

Brian Ross, General Manager at Specialty Cinema was equally enthusiastic about the new cinema screen. “This new cinema screen represents a big step forward for the patrons of this fantastic old cinema. The Albury Regent Cinema now showcases the very best modern cinema equipment whilst maintaining the fine heritage nature of this venue.”

Specialty Cinema technician Michael Malachowski was the on-site project leader. “I am delighted with how the screen and the auditorium look. Working in Heritage listed buildings always presents some challenges, but working together with Edge Digital and Albury Regent Cinema management has meant that the end result is a superb cinema experience for all patrons”.
