Quest assists IEWC in achieving prestigious LEED® Green Building Certification at their Distribution Center in Monterrey, Mexico.

IEWC’s Distribution Center in Monterrey Mexico, with the assistance of Quest, announced today that it has been awarded LEED® Certified for Commercial Interiors rating system. The LEED rating system, developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), is the foremost programs for buildings, homes and communities that are designed, constructed, maintained and operated for improved environmental and human health performance.

Through Quest’s effort, the IEWC-Monterrey warehouse is built to achieve energy savings, reduce water consumption, use materials wisely, and to create a healthy indoor environment for IEWC employees, customer, suppliers, and guests. Built with energy efficient equipment and materials, IEWC will save a minimum of 15% on air-conditioning and heating costs. Their HVAC efficiency, along with high performance lighting, occupancy sensors, and Energy Star rated equipment, will allow them to achieve huge energy savings over the life of the building. Water saving fixtures throughout the building reduce water use by over one-third, as compared to traditional fixtures.

Finally, the project team worked closely with Distribution Center personnel to create and implement sustainable LEED programs and policies, which were not already in place prior to starting the project.
