Spirit win shootout, knock off Plymouth 8-7

SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -

The Saginaw Spirit have won three of their last four games after beating the Plymouth Whalers 8-7 at the Dow Event Center in Saginaw Wednesday.

Eric Locke, Jimmy Lodge and Vincent Trocheck scored two goals apiece for the Spirit, while Dalton Young registered three assists for Saginaw.

With the win, the Spirit moved into third place in the Western Conference's West Division.

Saginaw's record is 9-10-2-1 (21).

The Spirit are back at it Thursday, as they'll travel to Windsor to take on the Spitfires.

The puck drops at 7:05 p.m.

Saginaw will not return home until Saturday, when they host the Brampton Battalion.
