FLINT, MI (WNEM) -
A mother charged with abusing her own child will be in court Tuesday.
Prosecutors say 23-year-old Aleesha Wyatt allowed her live-in boyfriend to watch her son, after knowing the man had been abusing the boy.
The 3-year-old has been in serious condition since the beating on November first.
His mother could be the first person charged under Michigan's Dominick's Law which makes it a crime for witnesses to ignore abuse.
Her pretrial exam is set for 8:30 a.m.
If convicted, Wyatt and her boyfriend face life in prison.
