SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -
The Michigan Department of Transportation will host meetings in December to outline repair work scheduled for I-75 and I-675 in Saginaw County. The meetings will provide an opportunity for emergency responders and the public to meet with MDOT staff and ask questions about plans for I-75 roadway reconstruction work and Z-bridge bearing replacement work over the Saginaw River.
Roadwork extends four miles along I-75 between the north and south junctions of I-675 in Saginaw County. The overall project includes replacing the Janes Road bridge and repairing the Wadsworth Road and CSX Railroad bridges. Bridge work will be completed with traffic detoured.
Janes Road bridge replacement began in October, with remaining road and bridge work to start in April 2013. Southbound I-75 will be reconstructed in 2013, while northbound I-75 will be reconstructed in 2014. The overall project is expected to be completed in 2015.
I-75 traffic will be shifted twice per week during construction, with traffic detoured to I-675. Three lanes will remain open in the direction of peak travel for the duration of this project.
MDOT is seeking public input to help recognize and address any concerns regarding this proposed work.
The presentation-style public meeting will provide information about I-75 and Zilwaukee Bridge (Z-bridge) projects in Saginaw County, expected to begin in 2013.
The meetings will be held Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012. The emergency responders meeting will be from three to four p.m. and the public meeting will be from 6 to 7 p.m.
Both meetings will be heldat the city of Zilwaukee Administration Building, located at 319 Tittabawassee Road in Zilwaukee.
