Snow covers Mid-Michigan overnight

Posted: Updated:
SAGINAW COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -

As expected, snow has been falling across the area overnight. This system is a moving quickly and snow is expected to end during the morning.

Temperatures were cold enough that the snow started to "stick" as soon as it began to fall. So, you'll be able to clean your porch and sidewalks with a broom in most places, there's no ice underneath. Makes it easier to clean off the car, too.

That said, streets and roads will be slick until we get above freezing in the late morning. As tires pack the 1-inch most areas have, ice will form, making roads extra slick. All the pavement in Mid-Michigan is snow-covered and slippery. Use extra caution and take extra time this morning as we all get used to winter driving again.

High today: 38 and low tonight 26. The upcoming week will be dry and not much warmer.
