A woman is in critical condition after three gunmen opened fire during a soccer game at a west Phoenix park, police said.
Police spokesman Sgt. Steve Martos said the soccer game was under way at Sueno Park at about 7 p.m. Saturday when two men with handguns and one with a rifle showed up and began shooting.
Francisco Flores lives nearby. "Right away the cops came and the helicopter came," Flores said. "They were using the spotlight, telling people to get out of the park."
Medics rushed a woman to the hospital with a bullet lodged in her upper body.
"The lady ended up not hitting the floor, ducking or anything and she got hit," Flores said.
The three Hispanics in their 20s fled from the park after the shooting and have not been found. The 32-year-old woman was hospitalized and was in critical condition Sunday.
Martos said police don't know why the three men began shooting or if the woman was the intended target.
This wasn't the first time this weekend folks reported hearing gunfire. Neighbors told CBS 5 they heard someone shooting in the area Friday night as well.
