If you shopped until you dropped over the weekend, don't put those credit cards away just yet.

Today is Cyber Monday and it's the biggest online shopping day of the year, with consumers expected to spend a billion and a half dollars.

Some of those deals are already beginning as Amazon, Best Buy and Walmart all began running deals at midnight and plan to keep rolling them out all day long.

Here's a few things to remember when it comes to keep you and your identity safe:

*Confirm a website is secure before entering any information.

*Look for an "s" after HTTP in the URL.

*Paying with a credit card will offer more protection than debit.

*Check statements regularly to make sure the only charges are ones you've made.

*Keep records of order confirmation and receipts.

With Black Friday in the books, reports have sales down this year, but it's not because consumers are spending less.

It's actually because more stores offered deals on Thanksgiving Day, instead of on Friday.

Sales fell nearly two percent from a year ago.

But there is some good news for retailers as consumers are expected to spend an average of 750 dollars each on gifts this year, up slightly from last year.
