According to a recent Internet Retailer survey, over 20% of consumers research product details and compare prices on their mobile devices, often while in the store.

Both are offering price matching this holiday season, while Sears has given sales reps iPads and iPhones as a way for customers place orders for items not in stock.

The big story this season, however, is the competition between Amazon and Wal-Mart. Earlier this year, Wal-Mart announced that it would no longer be carrying Amazon’s Kindle and last month launched same-day delivery for orders placed online.
Amazon has also been offering this service and it will be interesting to see which retailer comes out on top after the holidays.
