BAD AXE, MI (WNEM) -
Still no word on what caused a fire that killed three people, including a mother and her baby.
Authorities say preliminary autopsy results indicate two 23-year-old women and an 11-month-old girl found in a burning Michigan apartment likely died of smoke inhalation.
The fire happened inside State Apartments on West Huron Avenue in Bad Axe on Wednesday.
Melissa Perkins, 23, was killed, along with her 11-month old daughter, Abrecona Perkins.
A third person, 23-year-old Audrey Hogan, also died in the blaze.
The Bad Axe Fire Chief is still waiting for the fire marshal's report before a cause can be determined.
