CLARE, MI (WNEM) -
Police in Clare County said that a number of cabins have been vandalized in the area with the culprits stealing copper gas lines.
The thefts are occurring because most residents heat with propane tanks and much of the piping and gas lines are made of copper.
Officials said nearly two dozen cabins have been hit.
Scrap copper sells for about an average of three dollars per pound.
