Veterans will be able to get valuable information at an event highlighting benefits available for military veterans and their families.
The event is scheduled for Friday at the Mott Community College Event Center. It runs from 10 am to 4 p.m. The MCC Event Center is adjacent to the Mott Library at 1401 E. Court St. in Flint.
The fair is a collaboration with Mott Community College, the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs and the State of Michigan's Department of Military and Veterans Affairs.
Veterans of all ages and branches of service will be able to meet one-on-one with VA, state, local and college representatives to ask questions related to VA benefits for compensation and pension, education, health care, private and confidential military sexual assault and trauma counseling, legal issues, and other service related matters.
Veteran service officers with a compassionate understanding of the problems that confront veterans, widows, widowers and children will be on hand to apply specialized knowledge in the best way to meet the needs of each veteran or other beneficiary who comes to the event.
No appointments are necessary. For more information, please call Jamiee McClelland at 810-235-5257.
