Some local heroes who have made the ultimate sacrifice were honored in Midland Sunday night.
One by one, the names of 34 law enforcement members were read, many of them killed in the line of duty.
Project Blue Light was held at the Presbyterian Church in Midland.
More than 100 people attended the service - among them, family and friends of those who died.
Also in attendance were dozens of officers representing several different law enforcement agencies across Mid Michigan.
Event organizer Mary Fisher, whose son was among those remembered, says the community support has been amazing.
"I think it's so important that these heroes are honored whether they died in the line of duty, whether they died while employed or retired, and we especially want to let those know who are still working how much we appreciate them."said Fisher.
This is the sixth year for the event.
