SAGINAW COUNTY, MI (WNEM) -
WNEM.com has new details about a two-car crash that happened Friday in Blumfield Township.
A Birch Run-area woman was killed and another woman hurt after the two vehicles crashed at the intersection of Holland and Gera roads.
A Ford pickup truck struck the driver's side of a Buick with the two women inside. The car then came to rest in a ditch with the two trapped inside. The force of the crash peeled the top of the car off.
Fire crews extracted the women, and they were taken to a nearby hospital.
WNEM.com has learned that the driver of the Buick, 56-year-old Debbra Johnson Mills, later died from her injuries.
Mills' passenger, a 24-year-old woman who authorities have not identified, remains in stable condition. It's unknown if Friday's weather -- light rain and snow -- played a part in the crash.
The driver of the pick-up that collided with Mills' car did not sustain any injuries.
