Local florist creates calendar for breast cancer

FLINT, MI (WNEM) -

Looking for that fun and unique gift for that someone special?

A local florist has created a special calendar that pays tribute to those suffering from breast cancer.

Tonya Ketzler, owner of Ketzler's Florist, feared she might loose both her breasts to cancer, but learned that she had been misdiagnosed and had no cancer. So last Mother's Day, an idea was born.

Ketzler said "I was looking at all these studly men thinking, geez we need to do a calendar and if you're going to do a calendar you need to use it to raise money for something and breast cancer is real close to my heart. I had a guy come home from Chicago, he's a model in Chicago, came home to take some pictures. One guy was in the Navy, took the time off leave to come over, because it meant a lot to him. "

Ketzler's advise if you purchase the calendar: "Women my age will appreciate especially, I think July and November."

If you'd like to purchase a calendar, call 810-238-2964.  You can also visit the shop directly at 3188 W Hill Rd. in Flint.  The calendars are 10 dollars.
