Man charged in abuse case could lose parental rights

FLINT, MI (WNEM) -

The man who is accused of beating a three year old boy could lose his parental rights.

Yesterday, Robert Martin was in court for a hearing to determine if he still has rights to his other children.

There are no reports of abuse against those children, but prosecutors say he should not be allowed to see them.

Police say Martin and the Boy's mother, Aleesha Wyatt badly beat the three year old boy more than a month ago in Flint.

Wyatt is accused of allowing Martin to watch her son, Jordin Parkes even after knowing the man abused the boy.

When she returned home on November 1st, the child was unresponsive.

Both Martin and Wyatt are charged with first degree child abuse.
