The accolades continue to come for two of the South Carolina Gamecocks' most influential players, Jadeveon Clowney and Ace Sanders.
On Wednesday, coaches from the Southeastern Conference voted to declare Clowney, a sophomore from Rock Hill, as the Defensive Player of the Year.
Clowney, who was also listed to the first-team All-SEC squad and awarded the Hendricks Award on Wednesday morning, recorded 13 sacks this season and 23.5 tackles for loss.
League coaches also named Sanders as the Co-Special Teams Player of the Year along with Caleb Sturgis from Florida.
The junior wide receiver was the SEC's top punt returner and set the school record for returns with 363 yards. Sanders was also named to the All-SEC team for special teams.
