A worker was handcuffed and robbers stole money from a Chandler check cashing store Wednesday morning, police said.
It happened just before 9 a.m. at Ace Check Cashing at 777 N. Arizona Ave.
The two suspects, dressed in black, had gained access through the roof and suspended ceiling.
They waited until the first employee entered the building, and then dropped through the ceiling into the business, according to Chandler police spokesman Sgt. Joe Favazzo. The suspects assaulted and handcuffed the female employee then stole money from the safe and cash drawers.
A witness told police she had observed two men dressed in black running from the front of the business toward the alley behind the business shortly after the robbery.
Investigators said they believe the suspects also committed a similar robbery in Phoenix, both crimes occurring within 24 hours.
