Thursday evening at the Dow Event Center, The Saginaw Spirit dropped a 3-0 decision to the Sarnia Sting.
Despite being out shot in the opening period 26-8, the guests scored the only goal they needed as Davis Brown tallied his first OHL goal at 3:13.
In the second frame, Sarnia took a 2-0 lead on the power play as Alex Galchenyuk scored his 21st goal of the season at 4:42.
The Sting completed the scoring with just 35 seconds remaining in the game with Alex Basso adding an empty net goal.
The crowd of 2,359 saw JP Anderson stop 42 Saginaw shots enroute to the shutout.
Jake Patterson had 25 saves for the Spirit.
Saginaw travels to Plymouth this evening for a match with the Whalers, before returning home Saturday evening to face the Soo Greyhounds at 7:11 pm.
