Saginaw police investigate third homicide in 24 hours

SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -

Saginaw police were called to the scene of a deadly shooting early Saturday morning.

Police said when dispatchers received the call shortly before 12:30 a.m., they were only told shots had been fired in the area of South 15th Street and Lapeer Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers said they found a male suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim's identity has not been released.

It was the third deadly shooting in the city in less than 24 hours.

A 46-year-old man was found dead at the intersection of Atwater Street and Sheridan Avenue Friday night.

Hours earlier, Saginaw police began investigating the shooting death of a 23-year-old man. He was gunned down in a home on Elm Street. Police responded to the area around 1 p.m.
