LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
Clark County School District police are investigating a 12-year-old girl's attack by a classmate that was recorded at a bus stop and posted online.
The mother of the victim told FOX5 the attack happened just as her daughter got off the bus on Friday near Fort Apache and Warm Springs roads.
In an exclusive interview, the girl described how her attacker grabbed her.
"She came up and grabbed me by my hair," said 12-year-old Morgan Joy. "She dragged me down on the sidewalk and literally threw me down. I started getting really hurt."
A classmate posted the short clip Facebook. Morgan said she was targeted for taking her attacker's seat on the bus.
"We can sit where we want," Morgan said. "'It's not your bus' [I told her]…and then she got all mad at me."
She said the pain was so bad she was on the ground for 20 minutes nursing what turned out to be a sprained ankle. Security at her housing complex rushed in and the school bus driver immediately called the school district.
"I was pretty much scared," said Morgan. "She would try to hurt me even more. Luckily she didn't aim for my stomach."
Her mother Suzan Joy said school police plan to file battery charges.
"It broke my heart," said Suzan Joy. "I also thought that if that wasn't my child and I hadn't see that video it would broke my heart as well."
The Facebook page where the video was posted was taken down. The mother said it was filled with comments from classmates joking about it. She doesn't think it's funny. She's happy she has proof.
"I know that some other children in the same community that we live in," said Suzan Joy. "The same girl lives there and they've also been bullied by her and injured. They reported it and nothing happened."
CCSD police said a probe into the incident is ongoing.
