EDENVILLE TOWNSHIP, MI (WNEM + AP) -

Authorities are releasing new details in a November murder of a woman in Midland County who met the suspect over Facebook.

Sheriff Jerry Nielsen says 30-year-old Steve Fabi appears to have acted alone. The sheriff believes Fabi fatally shot 45-year-old Leigh Swanson and then moved the body across the road and into woods in Edenville Township.

The Saginaw-area woman was last seen by family on Nov. 17.

Fabi shot himself Nov. 27 as sheriff's deputies were walking up to his house. The sheriff says Fabi and Swanson met over Facebook, not an online dating service as the sheriff previously reported during a news conference.

Friday November 16 – Leigh Swanson's family says she is picked up from the Saginaw Area for a date.

Sunday November 18 – She calls her mother at around noon to say she will be home around 630 – Mom tells TV5 that she heard lots of voices in the background.

Tuesday November 27 – TV5 interviews the family of Leigh Swanson. Leigh's cousin Donna Johnson calls the Midland County Sheriff's Department and hands over that number from her mother's caller ID. Investigators trace the number to a home to the 5100 block of N Fox Road in Edenville Township.

Later on that day deputies visit the home. They say, the man inside, 30-year-old Steven Michael Fabi shot and killed himself as deputies stepped out of their vehicles and walked up to the home.

Friday November 30 – The Midland County Sheriff's Department identify Steven Michael Fabi as the lead suspect in the death of 45-year-old  Leigh Swanson.
