MID-MICHIGAN (WNEM) -

An accident that took place in Kawkawlin Friday morning shut down Huron Road, or M-13, between River Road and Parish Road.

After a few hours, authorities allowed evacuated residents to return to their homes in the area.

That area is just north of the village of Kawkawlin.

WNEM received reports earlier Friday morning that a gas line was hit, and the rupture forced officials to evacuate numerous homes in the area of Wetters Road and M-13.

In Midland, the eastbound lanes of M-20 were closed at Currie Parkway near Currie Municipal Golf Course, just west of Midland. That roadway has since reopened.

Also in Frankenmuth, there was an accident reported at the intersection of Dehmel and Townline roads.

A 5-year-old child was believed to be injured in the crash, but the extent of the child's injuries is not known at this time.

That area is about a mile south of the Fortress Golf Course.

Numerous accidents are being reported, so use caution when traveling on the roadways.
