MID-MICHIGAN (WNEM) -
The winter weather that continues to fall across Mid-Michigan is bringing reports of numerous accidents. Many power outages have been reported as well.
Consumer's Energy is reporting that about 63,730 customers are offline statewide, and DTE Energy is reporting about 19,000 customers in the dark.
The wet, heavy snow is forcing tree branches down onto power lines, causing those lines to snap.
Many customers are offline in Mid-Michigan, most being reported north of the Tri-cities.
As of 4 p.m., Consumer's Energy was reporting 3,829 customers were offline in Clare County.
Gladwin County has 685 customers in the dark. Isabella County is reporting 187 customers offline. Oscoda County has about 645 customers in the dark. Roscommon County has 1,823 customers offline.
No restoration time has been announced.
