MIDLAND, MI (WNEM) -
The Salvation Army of Midland is nearing the end of its silent auction for a diamond ring donated in one of their red kettles earlier this month.
The ring was donated with a simple note reading "paying it forward Jayden style" as a way to honor the passing of young Jayden Lamb.
The ring is on display at Jenkins Custom Jewelers at the Midland Mall.
Bids will be accepted until 3 p.m. Saturday.
The current bid stands at $600. The ring has been appraised at $2,000.
Jayden Lamb lost his battle with cancer on Nov. 27, just two weeks shy of his ninth birthday.
