Increasing rain chances south of Tampa Bay

Updated:
"It will feel pleasant when you step outside this morning, slightly warmer than yesterday morning," said Storm Team 8 Meteorologist Leigh Spann. As a front to the south lifts back north today, clouds will increase.  There will also be a 40 percent chance of scattered showers developing, especially south of Tampa Bay. Temperatures climb to near 80 degrees this afternoon.

Tampa: 80
St. Pete: 79
Sarasota: 81
Lakeland: 81
Brooksville: 78

A few showers remain in the forecast overnight with lows in the upper 60s. "An area of low pressure in the Gulf of Mexico will head toward the Tampa Bay area tomorrow and bring us even more showers and storms," said Spann. Some of the storms tomorrow could be strong with heavy downpours. Highs will be near 80 degrees again tomorrow.
