A First Alert Day today has been issued for excessive heat and humidity.

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for most of southeast Michigan and northwest Ohio.

The daytime high could break a record set in 1994 of 97 degrees. Heavy humidity could take the heat index to over 100.

First Alert Day Monday: Even hotter with the heat index still pushing over 100. Increased chance of storms after midnight.

First Alert Day Tuesday: Storms possible throughout the day and evening, with the high settling back to average in the mid to low 80s.
