Torrington High School students safe after falling through ice

TORRINGTON, CT (WFSB) -

Torrington police said two students fell through the ice on a pond near Torrington High School Thursday morning.

Two Torrington High School students were able to get out of the water on their own, according to the fire officials. One student fell in up to his knees, while the other one was completely submerged.

Police officers checked on the two students, but neither was transferred to a hospital for medical treatment.

One student was riding on a bicycle and the other was walking when the incident occurred.
