A Michigan state trooper was involved in a shooting.
It happened late Friday night on Alma Street in Flint.
Witnesses say the trooper pulled a car over and then the traffic stop took a turn for the worse.
"He took the passenger out and was checking the passenger. Then he checked the driver, as he was going to the passenger side the driver got in the car and took off. The next thing you know, you heard shots," said Keith Hutchinson.
Witnesses claim the trooper grabbed onto the car and was dragged almost a block before the driver crashed into a tree.
The trooper was reportedly thrown from the vehicle.
Police say the driver got out of the car and walked toward the trooper and shots were fired.
"It was so many police down here on Fulton they had it roped off everywhere," said Barbara Savage.
She lives in the area.
She can't believe this sort of violence happened in her neighborhood.
"They knocked on the door and asked me if they could check my house out for bullet holes. I'm glad I wasn't at home at the time," she explained.
Neighbors are cleaning up debris left behind from the ordeal.
