Spirit split weekend games, head out on the road

SAGINAW, MI (WNEM) -

The Saginaw Spirit dropped a 4-2 decision to the Erie Otters on Saturday, the team's first loss since Jan. 4.

The Spirit had won six straight games before losing to the Otters on Saturday.

The loss dropped the Spirit to 21-20-3-2 (47), four points behind Sault Ste. Marie for third place in the OHL Western Conference's West Division.

Saginaw will be on the road for the next three games, starting Wednesday night in Erie against the Otters.

The Spirit will not return home until Feb. 1, when they'll host the Peterborough Petes at the Dow Event Center at 7:11 p.m.
