The Saginaw County Sheriff's department said there was an armed robbery at the Marathon gas station known as Paxson Oil on Monday around 2 p.m.
That gas station is at 1824 N. Michigan, near Genesee, in Saginaw.
Police tell WNEM.com the suspect got away with an unknown amount of money, but only after a confrontation between the store clerk and the suspect. Investigators said the robber's pistol was dropped and the suspect fled on foot.
Police tell TV5 a man was observed getting into a mini-van in the area of the Children's Museum. The vehicle was followed to Dom's Market and stopped. Through investigation evidence was determined linking subject to robbery. He was apprehended and other subjects are being investigated to see if they were part of the robbery.
The man is currently lodged in the Saginaw County Jail.
A TV5 Facebook fan stated that the Health Department building in Saginaw was also on lockdown shortly after the robbery took place. That lockdown has since been lifted.
