FLINT TOWNSHIP, MI (WNEM) -
A media company is on a mission this week to collect as many boxes of cereal as they can for the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan.
CARS 108, part of Townsquare Media, is one of the sponsors of the food drive. DJs will be broadcasting from a different drop-off location everyday.
Tuesday morning they gathered at the Randy Wise Auto Mall in Flint Township. Employees were eager to donate to the cause.
"I brought in three boxes to help the little kids," said Brandon Hazelwood, a lube technician.
Organizers say those unable to go to the store and buy a few boxes of cereal can help out by making a donation. They say giving just a few dollars can make a bigger difference than you may think.
"We can get about 72 boxes of food for every dollar. So it's great leveraging ability," said Tracy Fowler-Johnston of the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan.
The cereal drive continues Wednesday at Shiawassee Sports Center in Birch Run. Boxes will be collected at Imlay City Ford on Thursday. The drive wraps up Friday at the Family Community Credit Union in Burton.
